The retail development known as The Block at 1 South Main Street in Natick, Massachussetts is ramping up its marketing efforts in anticipation of its planned opening in 2025. The Block occupies a site that was once home to businesses that were razed in a 2019 fire. The development’s original plans have undergone various changes but the current design includes two stories featuring six retail units. The spaces, suitable for varying uses such as restaurants, spas, or experiential use, are available for rent with terms ranging from three to five years.
Simultaneously, PayMore, a chain that buys, sells, and trades electronic gear, is set to open at Sherwood Plaza, filling the vacant spot previously occupied by Jenny Craig. The Natick Select Board has approved PayMore’s Junk Dealer/Collector License application.
There is also a new attempt for a license from an applicant identified as Neel Patel, who wants to establish Market 10 Provisions in a former convenience store spot on Rte. 135. Patel’s earlier attempt for an all-alcohol license didn’t materialize, however, the new application involves a store with an emphasis on groceries, similar to a smaller version of Whole Foods. The Select Board has yet to decide on this application pending more detailed business information.
Lastly, there are plans for an afternoon tea room in the MetroWest area, most likely in Sudbury. These plans have stemmed from a crowdsourcing campaign by a mother and daughter duo from Sudbury.
